About the event
In this powerful 20-minute 360° performance, Basel-based dancer Heny blends Litfit and hip-hop into an immersive storytelling experience that surrounds the audience both physically and emotionally.
Through movement, rhythm, and raw expression, Heny and his team bring to light the lived reality of sickle cell disease not as a limitation, but as a force that shapes resilience, identity, and perspective. The performance unfolds as a dialogue between body and voice: dancers move through moments of struggle, tension, and release.
Sickle cell disease is a genetic blood disorder where red blood cells become misshapen, leading to severe pain, organ damage, and chronic fatigue. Despite its seriousness, it remains under-recognized and underfunded in many Western countries, which raises ongoing concerns about inequality in medical attention and care.
The show is here to make a statement: “A disease does shape you, but it does not define you.”-Heny
